Instead of visiting Ait Ben Haddou twice, the outward route can include Telouet and its historic kasbah before continuing toward Ouarzazate. The drive continues toward the Draa Valley, historically associated with oasis agriculture and caravan routes. Near Agdz, palm groves and earthen villages follow the river below dark mountain ridges. The journey is long, but regular stops make it more manageable and reveal a different side of southern Morocco.
We arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or guesthouse. Dividing the return here avoids the very long Merzouga-to-Marrakech drive used by shorter tours.
Day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou
