morkosh tours

Planning your first trip to Morocco and want it to feel personal, safe, and well‑organised – not like a big group bus tour?

With Morkosh Tours, you travel on a private Morocco tours designed around you: your dates, your pace, and your comfort level.

I’m Youness, a licensed Moroccan guide and owner of Morkosh Tours since 2004, and for more than 20 years I’ve been designing private Morocco tours for US/UK couples, families, and small groups who want to see the real Morocco – not just the Instagram version.

All our morocco private tours include a private driver, AC 4×4 or minivan, handpicked riads and desert camps, and 24/7 in‑country support from my team and me.

If you already have dates in mind, you can scroll down to see some of our most popular private tours of Morocco, or contact me directly and I’ll sketch a custom route for you.

Why Choose a Private Morocco Tour (Instead of a Group Bus Trip)?

A private tour of Morocco is the best fit if you:

  • Are a couple or family from the US/UK, visiting Morocco for the first time.
  • Prefer your own driver and vehicle, not a big coach with 30–40 people.
  • Want flexible days – stopping for photos, coffee, or a short walk when you feel like it.
  • Like the idea of small, atmospheric riads and comfortable desert camps, not anonymous hotels.
  • Care about real local experiences: village visits, cooking with Berber families, gentle hikes, souk visits with honest advice.

On our private tours in Morocco we’re realistic about:

  • Driving times – no fake “3‑hour drives” that are actually 6 hours.
  • Road conditions – especially in the Atlas Mountains and Sahara approach.
  • Hotel standards – we explain clearly what “standard”, “comfort” and “luxury” really mean here.
  • Season and weather – when the desert is too hot for kids, when the coast is windy, etc.

How Our Private Morocco Tours Work

  • 100% private: just your couple / family / group with your own driver and vehicle.
  • Customisable itineraries: start in Marrakech, Casablanca, or Fes. End wherever works best with your flights.
  • Local, licensed drivers and guides: English‑speaking, safe, and used to working with first‑time visitors.
  • Handpicked accommodation: character riads, kasbahs, and desert camps we know personally.
  • Flexible comfort level: mid‑range, “comfortable with some treats”, or full luxury private tours Morocco.
  • Easy communication: fast replies via email or WhatsApp, plus support during the trip.

You can start from one of our suggested private tours below and adjust nights, hotels, or activities. Or, if you prefer, tell me your dates and I’ll design something from zero.

Small private group riding camels at sunset in the Merzouga desert

These are example itineraries we run often for US/UK couples and families. Every tour can be adjusted to your dates and interests.

3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert – Private Morocco Desert Tour

Perfect if you want a short but intense taste of the Sahara and the High Atlas.

Highlights (typical route):

  • Tizi n’Tichka Pass over the High Atlas Mountains.
  • Aït Benhaddou and Ouarzazate (film studios and kasbahs).
  • The Dades and Todra gorges.
  • Sunset camel ride to a private or semi‑private camp in the dunes of Merzouga.
  • Starry night in the Sahara, with local music and good food.

Best for:

  • Couples with limited time.
  • First‑timers who want a safe, well‑paced introduction to the desert.

You can see a detailed version under our tours starting from Marrakech.

3 Day Private Tour – Marrakech to Fes via the Desert

A great way to combine the two imperial cities with a proper desert experience, without backtracking.

Typical route:

  • Start in Marrakech, cross the High Atlas to the south.
  • Overnight near Dades or Todra, then to Merzouga desert camp.
  • Finish in Fes after crossing the Ziz Valley and Middle Atlas.

Best for:

  • US/UK travelers flying into Marrakech and out of Fes (or the reverse).
  • Couples and small groups who want to see both Marrakech and Fes plus the Sahara in one go.

You’ll find this and other options in our Guided Morocco Tours hub and the Marrakech tours section.

7–8 Day Private Morocco Tours from Casablanca

Most US/UK flights to Morocco still arrive in Casablanca, which makes it a natural starting point for a private tour.

Popular 7–8 day private tour Morocco itineraries include:

  • Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen – Fes – Sahara – Marrakech
  • Casablanca – Rabat – Fes – Sahara – High Atlas – Marrakech
  • Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen – Fes – Middle Atlas – Marrakech, with fewer one‑night stops for families.

Typical highlights:

  • Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca (inside visit).
  • Blue streets of Chefchaouen (if you want it – we can also skip if you prefer fewer hours in the car).
  • Fes medina with a local guide.
  • One night in or near the Sahara desert.
  • 1–2 nights in Marrakech at the end.

If you’re thinking about 7–10 days, have a look at:

We can then adjust one of these to match your flights and travel style.

Family‑Friendly Private Morocco Tours

Family with private driver on a Morocco tour in the Atlas Mountains

Traveling with kids or teens? We design family‑friendly private tours that move shwiya b’shwiya – not too rushed, with the right mix of culture, nature, and downtime.

Family‑friendly touches can include:

  • Shorter driving days and more 2‑night stays.
  • Desert camps with private bathrooms and real beds (no rough camping).
  • Easy activities: gentle camel rides, short walks, easy village visits.
  • Marrakech activities like our family-friendly Berber cooking class or light medina walking tour.

If you tell me the ages of your children and total number of nights, I can suggest a realistic family route that won’t exhaust everyone.

Luxury Private Tours Morocco (Riads, 4×4, and Desert Comfort)

If you’d like a bit more comfort, we can build Morocco luxury private tours with:

  • 4×4 Toyota Land Cruisers or high‑end minivans.
  • Boutique luxury riads and kasbahs in Marrakech, Fes, and the south.
  • Upgraded Sahara camps with en‑suite tents, better food, and fewer tents per camp.
  • Extra experiences like hammams, spa time, and private guides in the big cities.

Luxury doesn’t have to mean “over the top” – sometimes it just means the right location, more space, and better service. You can start by browsing our Luxury Morocco Desert Tours from Casablanca and then ask us to tailor a full route around them.

Why Travel with Morkosh Tours (and Not a Big Reseller)?

  • Local Moroccan operator: Morkosh Tours is based in Morocco; we are not a foreign reseller sending you to a third party.
  • Owner‑led: I, Youness, have been running private tours across Morocco since 2004 and still personally oversee itineraries and drivers.
  • Realistic advice: I’ll tell you honestly when an idea is too rushed or a road is not a good match for your comfort level.
  • Vetted drivers and vehicles: AC 4×4 Land Cruisers or quality minivans, with drivers I trust with my own family.
  • Handpicked stays: we use riads and guesthouses we know, not whatever is cheapest on a booking engine.
  • Flexible and human: travel plans change; we do our best to adapt without drama.

I could not be happier with the service we received from Youness, owner of Morkosh Tours. Youness was punctual, knowledgeable and very, very accommodating. He knows the country inside and out, especially the south. We booked a 3 days all inclusive trip with him to Merzouga (More details at Morkosh.com 3 days Merzouga trip). Youness drove, explained history of sites, arranged for meals and hotel stay, accommodated every request we had plus some. I highly recommend using Morkosh.com for private trips and transportation. Youness really took all the hassle out of travelling which allowed to focus on enjoying the sites.

We had a 3 day tour with Omar from Fes to Merzouga then to Marrakech. Omar was a very good tour guide and showed us some of Morocco's best landscapes and culture. We enjoyed the tour very much from the camel ride and camping in the desert to staying at the beautiful peaceful Riad in Ourzazate. Morkosh Tours really chooses quality accommodations and food and showed a really great time. Thank you, Omar!

After reading numerous reviews both on tripadvisor and the Internet we decided that we would book MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA 3 DAYS DESERT TOURS With Morkosh tours. Driver (I wish I recall his name but see in photo) was waiting for us at the airport and was very friendly pointing out places of interest on our journey to the Riad in the heart of Marrakech. Also made sure our suit cases were wheeled to the Riad from the city gates. After a couple of days of sightseeing including the Berbera village at Ourika Valley (a must see), we were picked up by Omar and started our journey to Merzouga. Some of the sites on the first day were: Ait Ben haddou, valley of the Roses, Skoura, 'El Kelaa des M'Gouna' and 'Boumalene Dades'. Driving through Ouarzazate was very scenic and beautiful, but the hotel we stayed on our first night was near Boumalene Dades was fantastic, with beautiful suite and stunning views over the gorge. On our 2nd day, we also visited Dades Gorge (a must see), Todra, Todra Gorge (amongst other interesting sites). We arrived at the Sahara desert at dusk and took a wonderful camel ride into the sunset to the nomad’s private encampment in the middle of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Being out of season, we were the only guests that night and had a fantastic experience playing cards (yes cards lol), drums and castanets by the open fire under the stars (a must DO). This was the highlight of our trip!!! After taking the camel rides back in the sunrise we set off back to Marrakech via Draa valley and Atlas Mountins. Omar made some detours so that we could do additional sightseeing of our choice along the way so we didn’t get back at promised time, however, worth every minute! We stayed an additional 3 nights at the Riad and Omar picked us up and drove us to the airport. We would like to say a massive thank you to Youness who arranged the tour, driver for being so helpful and especially Omar whose versatility made our trip so memorable in a number of different ways!!
