2 Day Casablanca to Fes Tour via Rabat, Meknes & Volubilis
This private 2 day Casablanca to Fes tour is designed for travelers who want to connect Casablanca with Fes while seeing several of Morocco’s most important imperial and historical stops on the way. Instead of treating the transfer as a long drive, the route includes Rabat, Meknes and the Roman site of Volubilis before an overnight stay in Fes.
The tour is private, so pickup time, hotel category and the pace of the stops can be adjusted. It works especially well for travelers who are short on time but still want a proper introduction to Fes rather than simply driving there and leaving the same day.
- Start: Casablanca hotel, riad or airport area
- Finish: Fes, or Casablanca if you choose the return option
- Duration: 2 days / 1 night
- Transport: Private air-conditioned vehicle with driver
- Best for: Couples, families and small private groups.

2 Day Casablanca to Fes Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
We normally leave Casablanca in the morning, around 8:00 a.m., from your hotel, riad or agreed pickup point. The first stop is Rabat, Morocco’s capital and one of the country’s four imperial cities. Depending on timing, you can see Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Udayas before continuing east.
From Rabat, the route continues toward Meknes. This is a practical stop for seeing part of the imperial city without turning the day into a rushed full city tour. We normally focus on the monumental side of Meknes, with time around Bab Mansour and the old city area, then continue toward Volubilis.
At Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can explore the Roman ruins and mosaics before the final drive to Fes. A local site guide can be arranged if you want a more detailed visit.

This first day is intentionally a full travel day. With sightseeing, lunch and normal stops, expect to arrive in Fes in the late afternoon or evening rather than treating the Casablanca–Fes route as a simple direct transfer.
Day 2: Guided Fes Medina Visit – Finish in Fes or Return to Casablanca
After breakfast, meet your private local guide for a walking tour of the old Medina of Fes. The exact route depends on your interests and opening hours, but a typical visit can include the Bou Inania area, the tanneries, traditional craft quarters, historic fountains and views of Al Quaraouiyine from the accessible surrounding streets.

If you are finishing the tour in Fes, you can enjoy a longer Medina visit and keep the rest of the afternoon free. If you need to return to Casablanca the same day, the Fes visit must be shorter. A realistic plan is a morning guided tour followed by an early-afternoon departure for Casablanca. The direct motorway drive is normally around 3½ to 4 hours before traffic, breaks and your exact drop-off location are taken into account.
We do not recommend advertising a full-day Fes tour and then promising a comfortable return to Casablanca at the same time. If seeing Fes in depth is your priority, ending the tour in Fes is the better two-day option.

Accommodation in Fes

Most travelers choose a riad inside or close to the Medina. I recommend selecting accommodation with easy luggage access or arranging a porter when necessary, because many streets inside the old Medina are pedestrian-only. We can adapt the tour to comfortable mid-range riads, luxury riads or larger hotels depending on your preference and budget.
Can This Casablanca to Fes Tour Be Customized?
Yes. This is a private itinerary, not a fixed group departure. We can adjust the pickup time, shorten or extend the Rabat and Meknes stops, add a local guide at Volubilis, choose where you stay in Fes and decide whether the tour ends in Fes or returns to Casablanca.
If two days feels too short, compare our private tours from Casablanca, including the 9 days tour from Casablanca and the 10 days tour from Casablanca. For a route built around your own dates and interests, see our custom Morocco tours.
Planning Your Time in Fes
Fes deserves more than a quick photo stop. If this is your first visit, our Fes Morocco Medina guide explains what to see, how the Medina is laid out and what to expect from a guided visit.
2 Day Casablanca to Fes Tour FAQs
How long is the drive from Casablanca to Fes?
The direct drive is roughly 3½ to 4 hours in normal conditions. Day 1 takes much longer because this itinerary includes sightseeing in Rabat, Meknes and Volubilis.
Can we return to Casablanca on Day 2?
Yes, but the Fes Medina tour needs to finish around early afternoon so there is enough time for the drive back. If you want a full day in Fes, we recommend ending the tour there.
Is the tour private?
Yes. The vehicle and itinerary are private for your party, and the route can be adjusted to your pace.
Is one night in Fes included?
Accommodation can be included or booked separately, depending on the quote you choose. Tell us the hotel category you prefer and we can recommend suitable options.
Do we need a guide in Volubilis?
A guide is optional. You can explore independently, or we can arrange a local guide if you want more historical detail.
