Day 1: Fes to Merzouga.
On the first day of your desert tour, you will depart from Fes and head towards Merzouga. Along the way, you will pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop at Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” You will also visit the cedar forest of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. After lunch, you will continue on to Merzouga, where you will ride camels into the Sahara and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp.
Day 2: Merzouga to Skoura.
On the second day of your desert tour, you will wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before riding your camels back to Merzouga. From there, you will continue your journey towards Skoura, passing through the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley. You will hike through the palm groves and visit the ancient Kasbah Amridil, a fortified village that has been inhabited for over 300 years. You will also have the chance to visit a local cooperative where women produce argan oil, a traditional Moroccan product known for its health benefits and culinary uses. In the evening, you will return to your kasbah for another delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech.
On the final day of your desert tour, you will depart from Ouarzazate and head towards Marrakech. Along the way, you will stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning fortified village that has been used as a backdrop for many famous films and TV shows. You will also pass through the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. Finally, you will arrive in Marrakech, where your tour will come to an end.
