Imlil marrakech Atlas Mountains excursion Day trip
Departing Marrakech to Imlil Valley, you will drive along the Ouirgane Valley through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains via the village Asni before arriving in the Berber village Imlil. Imlil sits on the edge of the Toubkal National Park, making it a very green and luscious landscape. Also ideal for those serious trekkers, as this is known as the ‘last step before the ascent of Mt Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa (4,167metres). Optional visit to the Kasbah Tamadot,owned by Richard Branson for a look into how the other half lives. Enjoy a coffee or lunch (for the bigger budgets) otherwise lunch will be taken later in the Berber village.Immerse yourself into the daily Berber lifestyle and culture here in this peaceful,road-less village of Imlil for the afternoon. Fantastic on October, when the pungent smell of ripened apples fills the valleys. Take an approximate 1 hr trek on foot or by local transport…the mule!! Enabling you to take in some excellent sights which you can capture with your camera. As will combining your trip with a visit to a traditional rural market (souks) on Tuesdays and Saturdays. An experience not to be missed with usual and unusual wares to be found and the typical hustle and bustle of any market around the world. It is a private vehicle solely for you and your parties use and we include mineral water for every passenger. Trekking in the High Atlas Mountains:
Distance of 65 Km from Marrakech to Imlil. Pick up from your Riad in the morning to commence a half or full day trekking to inc. a guide in the Berber Village with traditional mint tea on arrival and walking for 2 or 3 hours or exploring with a mule. Lunch will be served in a Berber house or among the nature under the walnut trees. Full day will inc. a circuit from Imlil to Imnan Valley and lunch beside the river or in Berber House.
